Military History Tours offers unique tours to those places around the world where our service members have fought.

We are now taking bookings for our specialised range of tours in 2010 and 2015. Two of the tours follow one another, they can be taken as a single package, or as separate modules.

Our tours in 2010 began with our tour to the Desert Battlefields of El Alamein and Tobruk in March (visit the TOUR ARCHIVE to see how this tour went).  Our other ANZAC Day at Villers-Bretonneux and Gallipoli '95.  A further tour of Gallipoli in 2010 let you avoid the ANZAC Day crowds, and can be taken as an extension of the ANZAC Day at Villers-Brettoneux tour. Our RAAF in the UK 1939-1945 and Fromelles Cemetery Dedication (France and Belgium) have recently concluded (visit TOUR ARCHIVE).

Our and Sponsored Surf Clubs Tour of Turkey, inaugural Swim the Dardanelles and visit the Gallipoli battlefields tours have just concluded (visit TOUR ARCHIVE).  A complete list of the swim results is included as is a report on our surf boats landing at ANZAC Cove and North Beach.

In 2011 we will run three concurrent ANZAC Day tours: ANZAC Day at Villers-Bretonneux (France and Belgium) on the Western Front; ANZAC Day at Tobruk (Egypt and Libya); and ANZAC Day in Athens (Greece and Crete).  There is also another RAAF in the UK tour proposed for July, and a Swim the Dardanelles with a visit to the Gallipoli battlefields tour in August.

We are already planning the Gallipoli 100 tour to visit ANZAC Cove on the 100th anniversary of the landings and witness the special events.  This tour is available for booking. and we have had at present many bookings for this once in a lifetime experience.

Each tour offers a unique experience, take the package, and you will have experienced the sites where Australians fought in Europe, Africa  and East Asia during both World Wars.

Travel with us and our Military Historians to those battlefields where the Australian and New Zealand forces have fought with great courage, tenacity and initiative.

Military History Tours is battlefield orientated, in that we examine military campaigns and ensuing battles, with expert discussion from our historians, we also experience the environment and culture of the areas we visit by contact with local guides and historians to discuss the way of life in those bygone years.

You don't need to be a service or ex-service person to join these tours. People come with us from all walks of life and for a variety of reasons: whether they had family involved in the conflicts or just want to understand some of the events which helped shape the world as we know it today.

A leap of the imagination is required when visiting the battlefields. They are now so tranquil and the very thought of war is unbelievable. Your imagination has to supply the ruin and devastation, the shell holes, trenches, smoke, flame and noise, the cold and heat, the fear and pain.

While viewing the war cemeteries is very much a personal moving experience, much of the adventure of the tour will be experienced as a group. We use our first night together as a briefing forum for what is to follow.  Prior to departure, each traveller will receive either a newsletter or other information covering general areas of interest including travelling overseas, the itinerary and what to expect.

Our historians are fully conversant with the battle sites you will visit. Qualified and experienced noted historians and former soldiers, they have already visited the sites, and are required to undertake a directed course of study to refresh and update their knowledge before every tour.

Within the constraints of available records and the geography of the area, you will be shown exactly where your individual Australian ancestors fought, and for those who were left behind, their eternal resting places*.
