Military History tours are pleased to advise that all guests on the "Our Other Anzac Day" tour have arrived safely in France. Guests spent the day relaxing before a
Tour through the beautiful French Countryside by coach headed for the Somme.
The same rich countryside that our soldiers waxed lyrical at the beauty in their
1916 letters home.
At around
15:00, everyone arrived in Peronne, where they visited the
WW1 exhibits at the town hall and Great War exhibition. The Mayor
of Peronne then welcomed our guests over a traditional champagne drink. Entertainment was by the Somme Pipe Band.
After the reception guides for the next 5 days were introduced and the programme
outlined.
The temperature in Peronne
reached a high of 15, and a low of 5 degrees, a little on the chilly side.

On 24th, the battlefield tour begins with visits to Bullecourt, the Lochnagar Crater, Albert, Delville Wood and Beaumont Hamel.
On this site we will bring you extracts from the briefings your family will receive at each historical location.
